“When it comes to your wedding day hair and makeup, less is more,” says Judith Ann Graham of Judith Ann Graham Hair & Makeup Services. “Your look should create harmony between your dress, hair, makeup, veil, and accessories. Above all, your face is the major focal point and most photographed feature of the day. “We wanted Hester’s hair and makeup to look soft and romantic,” says Judith, who begins by airbrushing foundation, shadow, and blush onto her skin. “We softened her angular features by using neutral tones. Richard Petersen, a hairstylist who works with Judith Ann, sets Hester’s hair in large barrel curlers, styling it with a wide tooth comb. Flexible hairspray then allows the style to hold all day and night. When choosing the look for your wedding day, consider your best features and ask your hair and makeup artists for suggestions. “If you have high cheekbones, make sure your hair style is complementary. If your eyes or lips are your best feature, emphasize them. Never do a hair or makeup style that is drastically different from your everyday look.” Judith Ann has a team of award-winning hair and makeup artists and is the author of “My Bride Guide,” a wedding planner for your personal style. She teaches both wedding planning and makeup courses at F.I.T. and is a certified image consultant and personal stylist. “Watching a bride stand before a mirror in total awe of how beautiful she looks,” says Judith Ann, “is an experience worth repeating over and over!” Judith Ann Graham Hair & Makeup Services |
