Maura and Brian won the contest with the story of how an already nervous Brian arrived at Mauras fire chief fathers Manhattan fire station to ask for his daughters hand in marriage. Just as he opened his mouth to ask the big question, the alarm sounded.
Brian had mustered the nerve and wasnt going to turn back. He sweated and stuttered and finally got the words out above the roar of the alarm, as Mauras father, a generous but stoic man, put on his fireproof uniform and said yes to his future son-in-law.

Maura and Brian met their sophomore year of college, and were wed at Greentree Country Club in New Rochelle. Maura is now a school psychologist and Brian a broker/dealer at Brut ECN.
"The beach had rocks jutting out of the shallows where you could sit," Brian tells us. "We went there the first day and then headed into town.
That evening bride and groom dined at a beachfront restaurant where they took their time and savored steak and fresh seafood as the tropical sun dramatically set. "The food was amazing," says Brian. "It was the most romantic evening of our honeymoon.
"Afterwards we took a long walk on the beach. Those are moments we’ll remember most."
Another evening, the honeymooners found themselves in a local bar that was having a "Trivia Night." "We decided, why not?" Brian laughs. "We were our own team, but we met a lot of very funny people. That was one of the most fun nights we had."
They also enjoyed the outdoor activities at the resort. "We toured the island on mopeds one day, and another day Brian slept late and I went on a scuba diving trip," says Maura.
"We definitely earned our relaxing spa massages," adds Brian.
Each night at the resort they enjoyed the in-house entertainment, including local music and dancing to a variety of bands. "We kept returning to this one Italian restaurant in the resort because their fish and pasta were outstanding," says Maura.
There is one special scene Brian and Maura recall with special affection. "It was Good Friday, and we decided to relax at Horseshoe Beach," Maura explains. Little did they know that in Bermuda, Good Friday is a day of celebration, and the natives traditionally fly kites.
"We arrived at the beach and all we could see for miles were kites floating across the sky!" says Brian. "Local bands were playing on the beach, and we were so entranced by the whole setting that we sat there all day enjoying the music, the people, and the kite-filled sky."
