City of Light. City of Romance.

Bring the magic of Paris into your relationship.

Meandering through the City of Light, the River Seine takes your breath away. Along the river, excavations uncovered canoes dating back to 4500 B.C., thousands of years before the Celtic tribe Parisii settled here in 300 B.C. What prompted them to choose this location?

No need to answer that question. Tonight, the answer is all around you.

Let your mind drift. Simply gaze out at the city and the Seine. Drink in the intoxicating brew of soft light, rippling waters, and urban excitement. For a moment maybe you too will experience how it was to be transported — truly to other realms — by the creative muse that inspired so many who have gazed upon this river in centuries past ... compelling them to create some of the world’s greatest works of art.

Paris. It was the 19th century birthplace of Impressionism, where Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and Alfred Sisley gazed upon this same river, and would meet in a simple Paris studio. There they would try to put into words the color and imagination that they could only communicate on their majestic canvasses.

Equally inspired by the city’s light, architecture, and culture, Pablo Picasso painted his Les Demoiselles d’Avignon at the Bateau-Lavoir, where such artistic legends as Georges Braque, Marc Chagall, and Amedeo Modigliani lived and worked.

It was in Montmartre that Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec found his inspiration, as did Salvador Dali, who often could be seen at the Cafe Cyrano, center of the world of the surrealists.

They went on to relocate to Montparnasse, home to sculptors Auguste Rodin, Constantin Brancusi, and Ossip Zadkine.

Today the city remains the home of great art, whether its expressed in cuisine, fashion, sculpture, painting, or the daily rituals of life itself. It’s an aesthetic you see in the galleries, along the enchanting boulevards, and among the Parisians themselves, as they stroll hand in hand or gracefully sip their espresso in the outdoor cafes.

A honeymoon in Paris. May it inspire the magical, ongoing spirit of creativity in your own lifelong journey together.
