"Kris and I met in Sea Isle City, New Jersey. I had just graduated from college with a degree in hospitality management and was living at the beach for the summer. While out one night with friends, I met Kris, who was bartending at The Ocean Drive Bar and Grill. By the end of the evening, we had arranged our first date, to Cape May. We strolled through the town’s streets, getting to know each other and grabbing dinner at the Jackson Mountain Cafe. There was instant chemistry between us and we quickly became inseparable. We spent the entire summer falling in love.
"At the end of the summer, I moved back to Voorheesville, New York to manage my family’s supermarket, and Kris went back to work at a record company in Philadelphia. We continued a long-distance relationship for two years before moving in together. In early 2008, Kris and I got our real estate licenses and began working together. We got engaged in 2008, at the Fourth of July fireworks in Cherry Hill. Kris gave me the best surprise of my life when he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.
"We both love the outdoors and wanted this to be the backdrop for our wedding. It was also important that our venue have on-premise accommodations for our family and friends. After a few months of searching for a wedding location, we found the MountainView Manor. It was everything we were looking for. It is a stunning, recently renovated historic mansion nestled atop the Appalachian Plateau in the Delaware Valley region of New York State. It also has scenic hiking trails and a lake for canoeing and fishing.
"Living three hours away, I had anticipated the wedding planning to be difficult, but Orest Blanarovich, the owner of MountainView Manor, worked with our planner to make everything easy and stress-free. It was comforting to know Orest was taking care of the wedding details.
"We held our wedding rehearsal and dinner at the MountainView Manor on Friday evening the day before our wedding. The Manor has nine beautifully restored guest rooms in the main building where we stayed for the weekend, along with our parents and bridal party.
"Our wedding day was absolutely perfect! We had a beautiful fall day with not a single cloud in the sky. I spent the day being pampered in our bridal suite along with my mom and bridesmaids. Kris spent the day playing Whiffle ball and football with his groomsmen on the Manor grounds. My brother, Tyler, ordained our wedding ceremony, which was held at MountainView Manor.
Following the ceremony, our guests enjoyed a wide variety of hors d’ oeuvres, including Maryland crab cakes, mini chicken cordon bleu, mini spring rolls, mini tacos, and spinach puffs.
"Orest and our planner brought our vision to life at the reception with royal blue overlay tablecloths, tea lights, beads, and bird sculpture centerpieces that held hydrangeas. We chose to have a variety of dinner stations, including a seafood station with shrimp, crab, salmon, and calamari, a pasta station, a fajita station, and a carving station. "For dessert we had a delicious three-tier chocolate and white marble cake with butter frosting that was decorated with delphinium flowers and toped with hydrangeas. We also had assorted Italian pastries, cookies, and an ice cream station.
"Our wedding weekend was exactly how we imagined it to be! We were able to escape to the country and spend a relaxing and intimate weekend celebrating our love for each other with our family and friends. Our vendors and the staff at the MountainView Manor went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was everything we wanted and they exceeded our expectations!"
