Real Wedding: The Pierre

Proposal at the Whitney, Marriage at the Pierre

"Adam and I consider ourselves lifelong New Yorkers (Northern New Jersey, but close enough!), and as soon as we stepped into the Pierre Hotel we knew this was where we would be married.

"So in front of 275 friends and family a year after we got engaged at the nearby Whitney Museum, the Pierre became the scene of our storybook wedding.

"We found the hotel's beauty breathtaking and its staff delightful to work with. No request too great, no task too difficult.

"What's more, Central Park was just around the corner, and proved to be the most beautiful backdrop for pictures!

"We walked down an aisle transformed into a forest of trees right out of a 'Midsummer's Night's Dream' thanks to our extraordinary florist!

"To personally express ourselves during a traditional Jewish ceremony, we wrote individual vows, meaningful and memorable.

"Our excitement, happiness and love carried on into the night. During the reception, everyone kept on dancing to a band that knew just what to play for our eclectic crowd.

"The only thing that brought people to their seats was the delightful mushroom risotto and the melt-in-your-mouth chateaubriand.

"Even a 'perfect' wedding suffers a few innocent missteps. One bridesmaid was so intent on catching the bouquet, she slid headlong across the floor and made a heroic dive to grab it. (Alas for her, another maid caught it unscathed.)

"The stunning winter day had a slight mist, family, and friends from as far as Israel and Ireland enjoyed our special moment and two souls joined together as one. It was just the fairy tale I had envisioned."
