Elegant and Non-Traditional
They recently worked with a couple who wanted a fun, energetic, and non-traditional reception while still keeping it elegant and upscale. “The couple never wanted their guests to feel ‘stuck at their tables’ at any point during the evening,” says Jung.
Fête created innovative ways for their guests to interact over the course of the evening. “First, we set up separate rooms for dinner and dancing,” says Jung. “The tables at dinner were laid out with beautiful trays set at different heights.” Each tray held bowls and platters of calamari, mozzarella and tomato salad, and gnocchi. “Serving the first course family-style set a fun tone for the evening. The second course was lobster tail and steak frittes.”
As dinner progressed, the D.J. transitioned from soothing background music to an upbeat dance mix. “On the dance floor, mini-Kahlua milkshakes were given to guests, along with Belgian chocolate mousse cones,” says Elizabeth. “After dinner, the wait staff lined up with trays of watermelon vodka shots in square shot glasses.”
