Add A Tasty Treat

“Add personal touches wherever possible to complement and enhance your style,” says Melinda Vega of Simply Chic Wedding & Event Consultants. “You can do this with personalized favors and treats for each guest. Rather than champagne, for example, pass around a drink during the cocktail hour that has special meaning to you and your husband-to-be. This can be translated into a favor by giving each guest a personalized bottle of the liquor or item to match the drink.

Melinda is often referred to as “The Chocolate Lady” by couples and clients who have requested her layered chocolate fountains — which feature dripping cascades of gourmet Belgian chocolate. Watch as your chocolate-loving guests (and who doesn’t love chocolate at a wedding?) dip fresh fruit, marshmallows, pretzels, and more into the rich chocolate.

“The chocolate fountain is a wonderful addition to any wedding or event,” says Melinda. “I customize each rental to the event I am hosting by providing a mirrored skirting for the fountain, roses or flower petals to match the décor, and sometimes candles. We can even match the containers and bowls to your colors as well.

“Hiring a wedding day coordinator can be essential to enjoying and remembring your wedding,” she adds. “A wedding planner can handle all issues concerning your vendors, ceremony, and reception. This is your special day and you shouldn’t have to be concerned with details.

“To avoid any wedding day problems, it’s best to have all the details ironed out prior to the ceremony or reception,” says Melinda. “Make sure all the fees are paid, vendors coordinated, and schedules are finalized. If you have an evening event and small children are in the wedding party, hire a baby-sitter. The bridal suite can be turned into a craft station for the younger attendants to entertain themselves.”

For the past 10 years Melinda has assisted in the coordination of events for various companies. “I began working part-time for a bridal show company based out of New Jersey,” says Melinda. “I liked working with the vendors and brides so much that I turned my love for the wedding industry into a reality by opening my own business.

“With careful planning and assistance, your wedding will be beautiful and remembered fondly by you and your guests. I love being able to help make a couple’s day extra special and allow them to enjoy it without having to make any decisions, other than what appetizer to choose at cocktail hour.”
