“The biggest question to think about for your wedding,” says Scott Arcangel, music director of The Music Boutique, “is what experience you want to create for your guests and the role your music will play in setting the atmosphere for your special day.

“After personalizing every other aspect of your wedding, what we offer is a type of concierge service for live music – curated uniquely for your day. We craft every ensemble and every set list with your vision in mind.”

Nat King Cole, Jazz, Metallica …

Because they offer such a personalized service, Scott tells us that their couples feel free to truly make their music selections their own. So it’s no surprise that recent requests have covered the spectrum, “from the wedding classics to the great jazz standards of Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, and Ella Fitzgerald, to acoustic covers of Metallica, and even video game soundtracks!"

“Recently, a couple wanted piano covers of Beatles music to underscore their ceremony, then a jazz quartet for their cocktail hour, New Orleans-style jazz for their dinner, and finally a funky brass band playing pop covers for dancing!

“Each portion of your day has a unique feel to it,” says Scott. “At times you want your music to underscore the moment, for example with a string ensemble for the ceremony, as your guests await the bride’s entrance. At times you’ll want your music to be a fun and lively backdrop as your guests mingle and enjoy cocktails. When it’s time to dance, the music is in the forefront, whether it’s a jazz band playing fun swing favorites or a party band playing all the hits your guests love to dance to!”

The Music Boutique was born out of Scott’s experiences with couples wanting to personalize their music. “Many were frustrated that bigger music entertainment companies weren’t always interested in catering to their unique vision.” Scott is also a professional composer and music arranger, “so when couples ask for something truly unique and special – we’re able to help them create that amazing memory."

“I’m first and foremost a musician who loves to play for people! My career has been a marriage of managing personnel and music. The business side evolved from years of building a wide network of the area’s finest and most reliable musicians.
 
“You’ll find our musicians at New York’s top jazz clubs, playing on Broadway, and on TV. We’ve also worked with some of the best orchestras in the world. However, when it comes to your event, we’re always focused on creating an amazing experience for you and your guests.”

What’s most rewarding for Scott and his team? “The perfect pairing! The most exciting thing about what I do is being able to cater to a bride’s specific taste with the perfect musicians for the job! We are not a one-size-fits-all agency. The combination of musicians for each event is hand selected to bring your vision to life.

One of the joys of my job is getting to know couples in such a unique way through their personal — and often eclectic! — taste as we work together to plan their music. And then again, through the eyes of their family and loved ones at the wedding.
