Brian and I attended the same college, but did not actually meet until after we graduated. We talked on Tinder for a while before I agreed to meet him in person. For our first date, we went to the movies and then played Bingo at a local bar with my childhood best friend. Two and a half years later, Brian planned a weekend trip for us to the beach. While walking on the sand, Brian got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! A photographer on the pier captured the entire proposal. The next day, we celebrated with friends and family at a BBQ that Brian organized as another surprise.
I had been to an event at The Park Savoy a couple years prior and knew I wanted to get married there. It was the only venue we looked at. The food, grounds, ballroom, bridal suite, and staff are all amazing. Two days after we got engaged, we met with Joe Maurillo, one of the owners, and booked a date. Joe, Barry, and Vito, the owners, were always on hand to make sure our every need was met. We had no worries during planning because I knew The Park Savoy had it covered. I don’t know what I would have done without Melanie Clarke, the sales manager. She was great resource during planning and was available for any questions I had. Mary and Deana, our bridal attendants, and Victor, our maître d’, made sure the day went flawlessly. Mary and Deana were always thinking two steps ahead of us and Victor kept the timing of all the important events on track. Our guests are still raving about the top-of-the-line service at our wedding.
I recently graduated with my Master’s Degree from Seton Hall University and now I work there as a director of compliance, so it is a special place to me. The classic vintage look of the chapel made an amazing place to say our vows.
Nothing compares to cocktail hour at the Park Savoy. The selection and quality of all the dishes is a step above anywhere else we have ever been. We received so many compliments on all the food. The big hits were the homemade mac and cheese station, the seafood raw bar, the Oriental and Thai station, and the martini ice luge bar. The ballroom’s marble dance floor, high ceilings, and crystal chandeliers created an elegant ambiance for our reception. We incorporated our color scheme of navy, gold, and pale pink in various ways. Park Savoy gave us pink uplighting throughout the reception, with gold during dinner, and the flowers in the centerpieces were light pink and white.
Dinner was delicious. We had the Estate signature salad as an appetizer and then a duet course of Chilean sea bass with lemon buerre blanc and frizzled leeks and chateaubriand in cabernet sauce, or a vegetarian option of an eggplant tower dish. For dessert, we had our delicious wedding cake and a Viennese station with several desserts.
Selecting the right DJ was extremely important to us and The Park Savoy gave us an excellent recommendation for a DJ from their preferred vendors list. Our DJ Mike read the crowd unlike any DJ I have seen and played all the songs we wanted to hear. We also had a live percussionist, who added an unbelievable live band feel to every song.
Thank you to our parents, our bridal party, and our incredible vendors. Thank you to Joe, Barry, Vito, Victor, Mary, Deana, Melanie, and the amazing staff at the Park Savoy for providing the perfect atmosphere and making our night as stress-free as possible. Our day would not have been nearly as perfect without each and every one of you!
