"Top-Notch Service"

In college I went to a surprise party for one of my best friends. I was standing at the bar when John came up to introduce himself and buy me a drink. Now, he is my husband! I’m a teacher and John is an elevator mechanic.

Shortly after that first meeting, he came to New York City to visit me. We went to dinner and spent the night wandering around, talking. Five years later we were going to dinner at the Capital Grille, and when the doors opened, I saw our families there. They all yelled, “Surprise!” and John proposed in front of all our loved ones.

My parents heard good things about Park Château, so we all went. We were instantly excited that we found the right place. It was under renovation at the time, but we still knew it was the one, and our decision was constantly reinforced by Park Château’s continued commitment to top-notch service, accommodation, and ease. Devin Castellano, the sales manager, was amazing, fulfilling every request either I, John, or my mother had. We were thrilled with how smooth everything went, from the early stages of planning to the after-party. We felt like we were waited on hand and foot!

We used the on-site chapel at Park Château for our ceremony and we made everything feel as elegant as possible. We had candles and rose petals lining the sides of the aisles, roses hanging in the large cathedral windows behind the altar, and two tall flower vases on either side of us.  We did a first look and took our photos on the grounds before the ceremony, so at the start of the cocktail hour John and I went to the bridal suite to have a moment together. We really appreciated when Devin brought us a plate of our cocktail hour food to make sure we were able to eat. We took advantage of everything they had to offer and utilized outdoor seating and the martini bar. We had six chafing dishes, 12 passed hors d’oeuvres, and 13 stations! The food was as delicious as it was abundant. People couldn’t stop talking about the lobster!

Our reception was held in the ballroom which boasts tall arched windows, ornate carved pillars, and sparkling chandeliers. Our centerpieces were white roses with barely-there tints of pink arranged in tall bunches with short candles arranged around them. Some had roses formed into a base to twist up into the large bunch at the top, so it looked like it was only roses supporting the bunch. We decorated the staircase in the foyer with gorgeous bunches of the same roses lining the railing and cascading to the floor to pool around bunches of candles. The entire venue was ours to decorate and use, so we put our photobooth out in the foyer.

For an appetizer, we had the Estate Signature Salad, and for entrée options we had the chateaubriand, the chicken Château, the Chilean sea bass, and eggplant napoleon. For dessert we had a cake, as well as passed gourmet desserts such as mini ice cream cones, cookies, and more cakes! Each table had its own server, so the service was impeccable.

We had our after-party in the cocktail hour room, and Park Château had this amazing donut wall that people passed as they walked in from the ballroom. Park Château provided the best kind of late-night food including mini-hamburgers, hot dogs, and mini grilled cheeses. They even wrapped up all the extra food for us to take home, so nothing went to waste!

Our wedding day was absolutely amazing and turned out to be everything we could have ever hoped for. We want to thank Devin and everyone else at the Park Château, our parents, and our florist for all going above and beyond. I want to thank my mom for all the work she put into the planning, and especially our welcome bags! You all made our day loving, memorable, and so, so much fun!
