Our cocktail hour was inside and outside, with food and drinks available in both places. Everyone could decide where they wanted to be, mingling and enjoying the views. The food was amazing, everyone said great things about the duck satay, the taco station, and the Italian station. The arancini balls were incredible!
We’re very in touch with the outdoors, and I’m a very natural, earthy person. We like vintage things and went for a 1920’s-Gatsby garden party look. We used wildflowers, greenery, and candles down the staircase. We wanted the indoors to feel like outside and we had that presence in the ballroom. The brick walls and tall windows showing the foliage outside were perfect for our vibe. The rustic tables were eclectic and we had a 40-person head table. My huge Italian family loved it and we loved that everything felt uniquely us. We had a phenomenal DJ and seriously feel he was the best wedding DJ ever. He listened to us when we told him what we liked and created something we loved with an amazing playlist.
For dinner, I had the roasted day boat cod over roasted red pepper risotto. It was gluten-free and I appreciated that it wasn’t an afterthought. It was as delicious as the other option, a steak with rice and potato-creamed spinach. The first course was a pasta with a roasted tomato bucatini, and we had our mixed berry salad at the end of dinner. All the food was phenomenal!
