The first time I met Kyle was on my 23rd birthday. I am an occupational therapist and he works in sales. My best friend was dating Kyle’s best friend, so we ran into each other sometimes, but it wasn’t until our third meeting that Kyle got my phone number. We went on our first date shortly after that to a delicious Italian restaurant on the Lower East Side called Via Della Pace.
To celebrate my 30th birthday, Kyle made dinner reservations for us, but he asked me to drop by our apartment first. When I got to our apartment, I was surprised to find Kyle on one knee! We took a cab to the restaurant and to my surprise once again, our parents and siblings were all waiting there for us to celebrate our engagement.
My cousin Bobby had his wedding at The Brownstone and I loved the venue’s elegant ambiance, attentive staff, and delicious food. Once Bobby introduced us to Tommy Manzo, an owner, it was a done deal. Tommy was amazing to work with and really took his time to review every detail of the wedding with us. On the night of the wedding, Albert Manzo, owner, and Denise Limone, banquet manager, were so helpful and attentive.
We were married at my family church, which is an old beautiful church with organists. Then we rode in our limo and our guests rode in shuttle buses to The Brownstone for cocktail hour. Our guests raved about the variety of food. They loved the passed hors d’oeuvres like Maryland crab cakes and mushroom truffle risotto puffs and the elaborate food stations including the lobster station, the sushi display table, and The Brownstone slider bar. The biggest hit of the cocktail hour was the prosciutto tree!
Our ballroom had a purple color scheme for a romantic ambiance. The room had purple uplighting and our centerpieces were cylindrical vases filled with water and floating purple candles. Our DJ was terrific and everyone was dancing the whole night. The extra DJ services made the experience even better than imagined. They created a photo montage to play after dinner and they even created a video trailer of our reception by the next morning!
Dinner began with an appetizer of brick oven pizza and salad. For their entrée, our guests could choose a duet of filet mignon and short ribs, chicken savoy, pan-seared Chilean sea bass, or veal osso bucco. For dessert, we had our red velvet wedding cake with cream cheese filling and an elaborate Viennese table with all the works including a waffle sundae bar, a chocolate fountain, a zeppole station, and more. All the food was incredible.
Thank you to all our wonderful vendors for their talent and professionalism. Thank you to Tommy, Al, Denise, and The Brownstone staff for helping us plan the perfect wedding. Thank you to our friends and family for celebrating our day with us.
