A Beach Bonfire After-Party
I’m a fifth grade teacher and Dani is a gym owner. We met on Fire Island when I was there for my friend’s bachelorette party and Dani was there for the weekend with friends. We met by chance one night and spent the next four hours speaking on the dock. Dani asked me out that night and we went to a Mets Game followed by dinner at The Parkside in Queens. We’ve been together ever since.
Two years later, Dani surprised me with a weekend trip to NYC where he proposed. We celebrated that night with a beautiful dinner and a comedy show.
We both knew we wanted to be married on the beach during sunset. We had always heard great things about the Crescent Beach Club so we decided to go check out the venue. We both fell in love with the beach, their outdoor cocktail area, ceremony location, and ballroom. We felt welcomed and were impressed with how comfortable the staff made us feel, especially Matt Silver, the general manager. He was extremely accommodating and helpful during the entire process.
We were married on a Saturday evening on the beach with views of the Long Island Sound. Our ceremony was relaxed and entertaining as our minister shared stories he’d had us write about how we met and came to be a couple, which had our guests laughing.
We had a steel drum player play for the cocktail hour on the outdoor deck and the beach during sunset. The food during the entire event was amazing! We had a cold display, a Roma station, a tapas station, and a carving station. We also had food that was passed around including sushi, lobster salad, shrimp cocktail, and brisket sliders. Everything was plentiful and delicious!
The décor in the ballroom tied in with our beach theme, with seashells and submerged blue and purple orchids with floating candles as the centerpieces. We also displayed personal photographs of Dani and me. We hired a photo booth and cigar roller for our guests’ enjoyment.
Dinner was incredible. Main course meal choices included tilapia and seafood bisque, filet mignon, chicken stuffed with country apple, and braised short ribs. Our wedding cake was chocolate filled with vanilla fondant. We also had passed desserts including brownies a la mode, tiramisu, and cheesecake lollipops.
Our band had everyone up and dancing the entire night. They played music from the 50’s to Top 40. At midnight, everyone went downstairs to where the cocktail hour took place for a beach bonfire. The Crescent Beach Club opened up their outdoor bar and served late night snacks, which included s’mores, french fries, onion rings, grilled cheese, and sliders. Guests were able to enjoy the beach and the last official weekend of summer for a little bit longer.
We want to send a special thanks to Matt Silver and the rest of the staff at the Crescent Beach Club for making our wedding fantastic. We would also like to thank all our family and friends who were able to share in this special moment in our lives. We also want to thank our adorable ring bearer, our ring security, and beautiful flower girls.Thank you specifically to our parents and sister and brother for being there every step of the way!
