Exciting Wedding Themes ... One such couple, featured in the Real Weddings section of this issue, arrived in a grand Cin- derella coach and continued their Fairytale Theme throughout their wedding. “Lindsay graciously walked down the aisle wearing only one shoe towards her ‘Prince Charming,’ Tom, who gently slipped the missing Glass Slip- per on her foot. The day also included a “Castle” cake and room décor fit for royalty.” Over the years, creative brides have transformed Shad- owbrook with themes ranging from Paris to Vegas to Tropical Paradise and Winter Wonderland. “We recently had a wedding cou- ple create an elaborate circus-themed masquerade ball, complete with flame throwers, sword swallowers, and illusionists, dazzling their guests. It was an affair to remember!” A Chocolate-Themed wedding incorporated chocolate into every aspect of the day, from the smooth brown satin linens and choco- late-infused lamb chops to a decadent candy bar. “Another Shad- owbrook bride and groom had a Casino-Themed wedding, complete with blackjack, poker, and roulette tables. Guests gambled away the chips provided by the bride and groom for this exciting day. There was also a spirited Halloween Wedding which began with a “spooky” ceremony with gravestones and fog, where nearly all the guests as well as the bridal party wore elegant costumes. The Oak Room was decked out with coffins, skeletons, a Trick or Treat candy bar, cobweb overlays on the tables, and a wedding cake of fondant bats with a ghoul-like cake topper.” Shadowbrook understands that it is important to many brides to be the “only one” on their special day. Accordingly, the entire Shadowbrook estate may now be exclusively yours. “Your guests can privately enjoy the entire Georgian mansion and gardens and all they have to offer. We also recently installed a state-of-the-art lighting system in the Regency Room on our garden level, giving brides a myriad of choices to coordinate with their color scheme and décor.” Gracious Service ... Besides accommodating other unusual requests — “we’ve had brides ask for hot air balloon trips and some have arrived by motorcycle” — staff members at Shadow- brook pride themselves on also routinely accommodating special situations, such as handicapped access, problems caused by chang- ing weather conditions, and dietary needs. “We take care of every detail, even the ones you wouldn’t think about. For example, with our outdoor ceremonies and cocktail hours, we make every effort to ensure we have your beautiful gar- Abella Studios Press Photo Annette Jenkins Photography den event, however, we always re- serve a suitable indoor area as well, in case of inclement weather.
