The Illusion of Long Hair

“Long hair provides more versatility so we used clip-in extensions on Katrina’s shoulder-length hair. Even though her hair is jet black, we used a warmer brown tone for the extensions. Adding a middle tone rather than the same color creates a highlighting effect and prevents the extensions from looking fake.”

Bridal Beauty Tips

Let your dress set the tone ... “If you’re wearing a strapless dress, wear your hair down or half-up half down. If your dress has sleeves, wear your hair up. Try to pick a style that matches the mood of your dress, not just your favorite from Pinterest.”

Have a plan ... “We stay until the majority of our bridal parties are announced at the reception. We do that for free because we love what we do. Is your makeup and hair person staying with you? What are you going to do in several hours when you’ve cried or kissed your lipstick off? By then, it doesn’t matter how great the artist is or what products they used. That’s why we stay longer.”

Old Hollywood Glamour

“It’s important to understand the feeling a bride is trying to invoke in her wedding. Katrina, with her gold French lace dress,  is definitely invoking old Hollywood, so we gave her finger-waved hair, a glamorous vintage red lip, and accentuated her facial highlights to give her the look of being on the silver screen.”

Gatsby-Inspired Touches

“Hair accessories are a great way to draw attention to your face, Here we chose a headband with crystal leaves and dangling strands to complement Katrina’s Gatsby-style beaded dress. We also intensified the smoky gray shadow on the outer V of her eyes and smudged it together with liner.”
