We wanted a very modern wedding, and when we walked into Maritime Parc we immediately felt its contemporary vibe. Being in New Jersey and seeing views of New York across the water felt like the venue was a bridge between our past and present. Maritime Parc has a huge wow factor, with the stunning scenery of Manhattan and the amazing ceiling in the ballroom. Maritime provided a maître d’ to help with anything we needed the day of the wedding. The entire staff is extremely organized and the whole day ran smoothly. Every time I turned around to ask for something, there was someone there already anticipating our needs.
We had our ceremony in the ballroom, which was set up with drapes and felt very intimate. My aunt Susan officiated and crocheted all our yarmulkes, Mike’s aunt Abby made our ketubah, we used my brother’s kiddish cup, and we were wrapped in Mike’s talis, given to him by his grandparents. We used my sister’s chuppah and sewed the yarmulke my grandmother made for my bat mitzvah in the center with my grandfather’s Jewish star hanging down. Our whole family helped create these special touches.
Our cocktail hour was in the atrium, which is beautiful with high wooden ceilings and an outdoor space. Our guests could spend time on the balcony taking in the city views and enjoying our signature drink, which Maritime Parc made to perfection. We wanted a plentiful cocktail hour and some of our favorite hors d’oeuvres were the asparagus crostini, pulled barbeque chicken empanadas, Scandinavian spiced meatballs, and the lobster mac and cheese fritters! We also had a cheese and charcuterie table and a bruschetta and crudité table.
