Thomas Esposito, the general manager, is always there the day of your wedding. It was important to our families that we have a religious ceremony. So, we were married in the Greek Orthodox Church of Our Savior before heading to VIP for our cocktail hour and reception.
Everything in the cocktail hour was held in the newly renovated 600 Lounge, equipped with custom tables and bouquets, intelligent lighting for customized ambiance, and a terrace available in every room, so our event could be indoors and outdoors. The stations were all our favorites, including a NY Deli station, a slider station, a carving station, a breads station, and a seafood soiree with someone shucking the oysters in front of us.
For our reception, we rented square tables. We had a neutral palette with very large, high centerpieces of white orchids and tall branches with votive candles suspended from them. We put a scotch and bourbon station on the patio, which is accessible from the ballroom. It was an elaborate display with the various specific glassware and the smokers for “smoked” drinks. The patio is covered, so it can be used even in the rain. The flow of our wedding was unique.
