"Intimate, Historic, Amazing"

Vincent and I met in the hallways of our high school. On our first date at a local pizzeria, Vinny turned to me and said, “When I saw you in the hall, I told my sister one day you would be my wife.” I smiled and laughed. A decade later, on a snowy January day at the Olde Mill Inn, we danced the night away for the first time as husband and wife!

We looked at over a dozen venues and learned what we liked. One thing was certain, with our guests coming from around the country; we needed accommodations. But we did not want the typical hotel vibe. We were so lucky the day we stumbled upon Olde Mill Inn.

Desiree & Vincent's Wedding at Olde Mill Inn NJ

After meeting with Marien Barker, the sales manager, for our tour, we were sold! It was the perfect space to have our wedding. With its intimate feel, historic charm, rustic appeal, and amazing food reviews, we knew we couldn’t go wrong! Marien was the icing on the cake. She made us so comfortable. We knew our wedding would be in good hands. We also worked with Gabriel Rodriguez, the assistant banquet manager and maître d’. We had a great time going over the details of the wedding. What we imagined could be a very stressful time was full of laughs with Gabe, and on the big day he was amazingly attentive. We wanted for nothing and have never felt so pampered.

Our ceremony took place at St. Bernard’s Church, which is a beautiful, quaint, old church just down the road. We loved the warm feeling you get upon entering the church and the proximity to the venue was ideal. Afterwards, we were delighted to get to Olde Mill Inn for our cocktail hour. We had selected some amazing food and Vinny and I enjoyed everything we tried. Our favorite passed hors d’oeuvres were the chicken and waffles, spicy lamb chops, and mini-buffalo sliders. We added the ice sculpture and seafood bar last minute, which looked as good as it tasted! Months later, our guests are still raving about the food!

When we entered the reception, we saw Gabe had truly outdone himself. He made our vision come to life and more. We chose a romantic palette of ivory, burgundy, and gold. Tall garden-style centerpieces adorned each table and hundreds of pillar candles were spread throughout the room, which cast a beautiful amber color.  Our DJ had the crowd going from the very moment the reception started. We all danced up an appetite for dinner!

Our first course was a caprese salad, followed by a choice of honey miso-glazed salmon, herb-seared filet of beef, stuffed chicken breast, or roasted red pepper stuffed with butternut squash risotto. I had the filet of beef all to myself, and it was incredible! Vincent ate the salmon and chicken, which must have been delicious because both his plates were spotless when I looked over! For dessert, we had assorted pastries, an ice cream cookie sandwich bar, and cake! The night was filled with love, laughter, food, and dancing! We ended the night with an after-party at the nearby Grain House, the Olde Mill Inn’s sister venue.
