"Beautiful and Perfect"

Michael and I have known each other since kindergarten, remaining friends through high school and college. We’ve been together ever since he asked me to a Yankees game and he proposed on a June day with all our closest friends and family around. He involved my little nephew, Nicholas, by having him hold a sign saying “Aunt Diana. Say Yes.” It was wonderful celebrating with our loved ones.

When we visited  VIP Country Club, we loved it. VIP is so beautiful and perfectly met our needs. The 600 Lounge has the perfect vibe for cocktail hour and the gorgeous view of the Long Island Sound makes for awesome pictures. The Terrace off the ballroom allows guests to mingle outside, while the spacious ballroom is the most elegant setting for a celebration.

The staff at VIP Country Club made our day go off flawlessly. They were incredibly accommodating, which proved crucial when getting married in the middle of a pandemic, postponing a wedding, and having to cut our guest list down. Even with changing guidelines, Vinston Joy, manager, and everyone at VIP helped us achieve our perfect day while keeping everyone safe. He answered all our questions promptly and thoroughly, was super knowledgeable, and carefully went over every detail to ensure our happiness.

Our ceremony was at Annunciation Church in Crestwood, where my grandparents were congregants and where my parents were married 35 years ago.

Cocktail hour at VIP Country Club was amazing! We had six stations, one was a seafood station VIP created for us with our favorites; cracked crab, lobster, and shrimp. It was beautifully set around a “Love” ice sculpture. Another guest favorite was the Coney Island Station. Everyone loved the pastrami sandwiches! We also loved using the screens available at VIP to show photos of family and friends throughout the years.

The venue has a beautiful Grand Ballroom enhanced by twinkling lighting, intricate ceilings, and expansive windows looking out at the grounds and water. The large dance floor was a huge highlight for us, knowing our friends and family are big dancers. Our décor was set up perfectly, thanks to the meticulous attention to detail of the VIP staff.  They created custom specialty drink signs, ensured the tables looked exactly as we’d discussed, set the sash bows onto the chairs, and made sure our vision came to life.

VIP has many delicious dinner options to choose from. With help from Tom Esposito, the general manager, we selected five choices for our guests to pick from for their entrée. He thoughtfully helped us choose the right pairings and made the menu perfect for us.

We started with a salad and heirloom tomatoes followed by pasta bolognese. Entrée options were filet mignon, chicken Milanese, salmon, shrimp scampi, and an additional vegan option. VIP even allowed guests to try multiple entrées in addition to the one they’d chosen!

Our wedding cake, made by VIP, was stunning. Every detail of the cake was beautiful and we loved having our initials painted on. During dessert, guests enjoyed the cordial carts with cookies, chocolate-covered strawberries, and after-dinner drinks. We had an exit donut station as well!  Our band made sure our guests danced the night away. The saxophonist was fantastic and our guests had a blast interacting with him.

We are beyond grateful to all the staff at VIP Country Club and our vendors for making our day truly unforgettable. Thank you to Vinny, Tom, and Bri, our bridal assistant, for helping us plan our perfect day.

Thank you to our photography team for capturing our amazing day in still moments we can cherish forever. Our band, our florist, my seamstress, hairdresser, and makeup artist all deserve special recognition. Each was incredibly talented and wonderful at their jobs. We are forever grateful to our friends and family for celebrating with us, and to my parents for helping plan our wedding perfectly.
