"Amazing, Unique Views"
Paul: Michelle and I met at our crossfit gym. We saw each other about a year before our first date at an event and she incorrectly assumed I was dating someone. She kept coming to the gym in hopes of running into me, but I wasn’t going frequently and we kept missing each other. Finally, we began talking and set up our first date.
Michelle: We were supposed to meet for dinner, but Paul is a police officer and a late arrest meant he had to keep pushing back the time. Getting off work at 11pm, he was still determined not to wait another day to take me out. We went for drinks, talked for hours, and had a truly amazing first date. We were so comfortable with each other! When he proposed a few years later in Montauk on Navy Beach, I happily said, “Yes!” We then celebrated with friends and family who came for the big reveal.
Paul: From there we started planning our wedding, with the venue being the first priority. When we went to Glen Island Harbor Club and sat down with Rocco Agostino, the general manager, we instantly knew this was where we wanted our celebration to be. Glen Island not only has a beautiful interior, but also gave us the amazing and unique outside view we were looking for. With a view of the Long Island Sound from the Terrace Room, no other venue was able to compare.
Working with Rocco was a great experience. He made us feel like family, and when working through a pandemic, this was incredibly important. Our wedding plans had to be pushed back, but Rocco remained in touch and we felt confident he would take care of us no matter what. We knew he and his staff would made sure our wedding was amazing.
Michelle: Our ceremony was outside at Glen Island Harbor Club. The morning of our wedding was much colder than expected, but Rocco arranged to have heaters brought in last minute to ensure our guests were comfortable. He really treated us like family, going above and beyond for us like it was second nature.
Paul: During cocktail hour, Michelle and I spent some time alone in the bridal suite. Glen Island provided all our cocktail hour items for us to enjoy in the room, so we got to try it all. The tomato basil pasta is so fresh, Michelle said it tasted just like it does in Italy. The carving station meats were also delicious, cooked perfectly with so much flavor.
Michelle: Walking into the ballroom was a wonderful experience. The glass windows overlooking the water while the sun was setting gave us everything we envisioned. The beauty of the room meant we could be minimalistic with our décor, simply adding garlands and candles to the tables.
Paul: The filet mignon was cooked to perfection, and everyone was saying this was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. The dessert was absolutely delicious. It was a trio served to each guest, and Glen Island was kind enough to box it up for each guest if they wanted to take it home. Our cake, a lemon cake, was packed with flavor and so moist!
Michelle: The dancing was amazing, with everyone having plenty of room to safely spread out and enjoy themselves. Our band, Stolen Moments, had everyone on their feet the entire night. Our guests were texting us for days saying how amazing the music sounded and how much fun they had dancing all night.
Paul & Michelle: We want to thank all our vendors who were with us through this time. Multiple postponements didn’t stop any of them from giving their all! Thank you to our friends and family for attending and celebrating with us. Thank you to the staff at Glen Island. It was a perfect night that we will never forget!
