"We Fell In Love"

Mike and I met in high school when I was a freshman and he was a sophomore. He remembers seeing me at a homecoming game and asking his friend who I was. When he realized we had math class together, he took his shot!

About 10 years later, we were in Ocean Beach on Fire Island, where both our families had been vacationing for years. Around sunset, Mike asked me to go for a walk.

We got to the boardwalk, which was lined with candles leading to a beautiful setup on the beach. We sat on a tapestry and looked through a photo album he made of our years together and then he proposed! Both our families were waiting back at the beach house to celebrate afterward and it was perfect.

We ran into a friend of Mike’s cousin who works at the Heritage Club and he suggested seeing it for our wedding. We knew its was a Lessing’s venue and trusted that it would be beautiful. We went to see it and fell in love in the first minute. We were amazed by the gorgeous white ballroom with modern lighting, wood floors, and picturesque views through the large windows. Located on a meticulously maintained golf course, choosing this venue was the best decision ever.

Working with Mindy Savvides, the sales manager, was incredible. She was our go-to girl and always answered my emails immediately. She had all the answers and in a year with so much uncertainty, such accommodation was outstanding.

Everyone at the Heritage Club was incredible, giving us every option and guiding us through decision making. On the day of our wedding, Edgar Gamboa, our maître d’, was spot on with every detail. We met him at our food tasting and he is not only the nicest person ever, he ensured our wedding was seamless.

With an April wedding and uncertain weather, we loved the beautiful indoor ceremony room. We felt the love and happiness bursting around us and our officiant was wonderful.

Cocktail hour was gorgeous. There is a gigantic fireplace that is modern yet rustic and really stunning. The décor of the venue is outstanding as is, and we had a saxophone player to add to the ambiance. The food was excellent, and people raved about the baby lamb chops. The make-your-own burrata bar, complete with pesto, tomato bruschetta, diced prosciutto, roasted red peppers, and olive oil was absolutely delicious and so fun!

Moving to the reception in the opulent ballroom, we appreciated the natural flow of the venue. Our guests easily moved from one room to the next, finding more elegance and luxury as they went. Just outside the ballroom is a patio with stylish bistro lights and wrought-iron tables, perfect to get some fresh air. The chandeliers are so unique and beautiful, they’re real statement pieces and look amazing in photos.

With so much already there, we added simple, neutral décor. Our centerpieces, both high and low, sat on gold stands with gigantic flower arrangements of mostly white flowers with pops of neutral color and pampas grass. We achieved a clean, boho look. The size of the room is great and open, but it is decorated to suit any size party. The dance floor was huge, which was great for everyone dancing out there all together.

For dinner, we chose the branzino filet in a white wine lemon butter sauce, grilled filet mignon, and French-cut chicken breast as our entrée options. My mom loved the salmon with teriyaki ginger sauce from the tasting, so the Heritage Club was kind enough to make that special for her. The service was excellent, with servers who were on top of everything. Our cake was gorgeous and simple. We chose a semi-naked cake with cannoli and Chantilly with mixed fruit. It was decorated with fresh flowers and greenery and completed the vibe for our wedding. We ended the night with a to-go station with warm pretzels and churros.

We’d like to thank Mindy, who felt like a friend in the end; Dominic Siggilino, the operations manager, for introducing us to the venue; all our vendors for their superb work; and to our parents, without whom none of this would be possible! We were nervous to go forward with a wedding during Covid, but the Heritage Club at Bethpage did a wonderful job making everything as normal as possible. We had the best time ever and everything went better than we could’ve imagined.
